Our goal is to better the environment within our very own community – Ventura County. On Saturday, September 15th we had over 30 Moorpark Surf Club & Daland Nation supporters out volunteering to pick up trash along the California Coast.
Coastal Cleanup Day is a local volunteering event celebrated in communities worldwide. Our club goals are to rally together with the common goal of collecting and documenting the trash littering along our beautiful beaches.
The International Coastal Cleanup, organized by Ocean Conservancy, began more than 30 years ago when communities rallied together with the common goal of collecting and documenting the trash on their coastline.
Every year on the 3rd Saturday in September, Cleanup Coordinators and volunteers from states and territories throughout the US (including right here in L.A.) and more than 150 countries around the world mobilize to clean-up thousands of beaches, waterways, and underwater habitats as well as inland, park and neighborhood areas.
Thank you to all my students who participated and made a difference. Hopefully, we all learn to leave the places we visit, share and love a little cleaner and nicer than before we arrived.
How amazing the world could become if we all learn to take care of our little slice of heaven within our own communities. See you all next September… Daland
